— usually, in this case we are talking about one or another Linux distribution distributed free of charge and designed for ordinary users — Ubuntu, Mint, etc.Being free, this OS is at the same time full-featured solution with graphical interface and an abundance of software for variety of tasks; except that relatively few games have been released for Linux. At the same time, there are practically no viruses under this system either, which makes it very safe. On the other hand, initially Linux is designed mainly for professional programmers and IT enthusiasts; for an ordinary user, such system can be quite difficult to learn and use. In addition, we note that, ideally, the Linux kernel needs to be compiled for specific hardware configuration — only in this case stable operation is guaranteed. Laptops are often equipped with standard distribution with default settings, which is suitable for general health checks and demonstrations of capabilities, but crashes during more serious work. However, the specific features of the pre-installed Linux do not hurt to clarify when buying.
