Design, “pure” Wear OS, navigation (GPS module, maps, compass, altimeter and barometer), fall detection function, blood oxygen level measurement, ECG, two straps included.
Autonomy, outdated processor.

Many smartphone manufacturers have at least one or more smartwatch models in their product range, but Google has seriously delayed this: the first “pixel” watches debuted only in 2022. But the pioneer turned out to be very successful - at least in terms of design. It is immediately clear that the manufacturer has carefully worked on the appearance: a durable stainless steel case, a small display, elegant rounded shapes and several colors to choose from. The watch weighs only 36 g, so you may even forget that it is on your hand. This is especially true for those users who do not remove the gadget at night and use it to monitor their sleep.

Overall, it's hardly an exaggeration to say that the Google Pixel Watch stands out from its competitors and looks like a solid premium device. First of all, the design will attract the attention of the female half, but Google is positioning the model as unisex. To do this, the package includes two straps: a longer one and a shorter one for different wrists.

Apart from the design, the watch also has many useful features for everyday use. It seems that the manufacturer has added everything that should be in a modern wearable device: NFC for contactless payment for purchases, Google Assistant voice assistant, built-in player, GPS, Google Maps, compass, altimeter, barometer, accelerometer and gyroscope. Thanks to the presence of a microphone and speaker, you can not only receive incoming messages and calls, but also answer them. This also applies to functions for health and activity: the watch supports many sports modes, from standard to more specific ones, can measure pulse, blood oxygen saturation level, do an ECG, count the number of steps taken, monitor sleep, stress levels and the female cycle. In addition, after the start of sales, Google added a fall detection function. A similar option is available in Apple Watch and Samsung Galaxy Watch : the system understands when the user has fallen and is not moving, and if he does not respond to signals, it contacts emergency services and sends them the location.

For some reason, the manufacturer used the Exynos 9110 processor, which was introduced back in 2018, as the “engine”. A strange solution, but, nevertheless, there are no problems with performance. But they clearly didn’t skimp on the amount of memory: the watch offers 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory. Another plus for the model is the Wear OS operating system without any shells, like “pure” Android on Google Pixel smartphones. The gadget works in tandem with any Android phone and is not compatible with Apple iPhones. Although fans of Apple products are unlikely to be offended - they often choose branded watches.

You can only complain about autonomy: apparently, due to its small size, a not very capacious 294 mAh battery is installed inside. During normal use, the device will have to be charged daily; if you save the charge, it can last for two days. And if for the Apple Watch this is a completely normal indicator, then models from other manufacturers have gone far ahead, providing 10 - 15, or even more days of battery life.

Wear OS operating system, Exynos W920 processor, 1.5/16 GB of memory, ECG and blood pressure measurement, body composition analysis, MIL-STD-810 protection standard.
Compatibility issues.

The flagship watch of the South Korean company Samsung in 2021, as befits a premium device, offers everything you need for convenient use, and even more. These include high-quality materials, a set of various sensors for monitoring health status, and almost unlimited possibilities. But, perhaps, the feature of the fourth generation is precisely the “filling”: this is the first Samsung watch in many years without the Tizen operating system. Instead, Wear OS is used, and a completely new version, to create which Samsung and Google joined forces. And this is good news for those users who scolded Tizen OS and remembered the good old Wear OS with nostalgia. And if you add to this the new Exynos W920 processor and increased memory (1.5 GB of RAM and 16 GB of ROM), you get fast operation, a smooth interface, instant launch of applications and close interaction with other ecosystem gadgets such as wireless headphones, TV, etc. d. For example, you can turn on noise canceling on your headphones or open an app on your smartphone right from your wrist. The only caveat is that the watch is not compatible with the iPhone, although fans of Apple gadgets are unlikely to need this.

In addition to displaying incoming calls and notifications, the device allows you to answer calls, make payments through Samsung Pay, give commands to the Bixby voice assistant, and download your favorite playlist while listening to music without a smartphone.

Another innovation is the Samsung BioActive sensor, which can measure ECG and blood pressure in real time. However, for a full analysis you need the Samsung Health Monitor application, and it is only available on Samsung Galaxy phones. In addition, the watch measures heart rate and oxygen levels in the blood, counts the number of steps taken and calories burned, monitors sleep, determines snoring patterns and can even analyze body composition, determining the amount of fat, skeletal muscle and water in the body.

A big problem for owners of wearable devices is autonomy, and you need to understand that the more functions, the less time the smart watch will work on a single charge. The Samsung Galaxy Watch4 has a 247 mAh battery, and this will last for a maximum of a few days. If you are actively training and turn on automatic SpO2 measurement and the Always On screen, you will have to charge the gadget daily.

By the way, the range also includes a 44mm version and a Galaxy Watch4 Classic model with a proprietary rotating bezel. But we would recommend the 40mm Galaxy Watch4 to the female half - smaller and neater, with a durable aluminum case, a small 1.2-inch Super AMOLED display and weighing only 26 g. At the same time, the younger version retains compliance with the MIL-STD-810 protection standard and IP68 water protection.

A large number of colors and straps, navigation (GPS module, maps, compass, altimeter and barometer), fall and accident detection functions, Apple S8 processor.
Not detected.

In 2022, Apple expanded its range of new products and released three models of smart watches, including the second generation Apple Watch SE. This is the cheapest version of the trio and lacks some features, but has everything you need for everyday use, health and activity monitoring.

The 40mm version will be a good choice for women due to its neat appearance, small size and weight of only 26 g. That is, when worn every day, the watch is practically not felt on the hand. The gadget is equipped with an aluminum body with a classic Apple rectangular shape, a bright Retina LTPO OLED touch display with rounded edges and Ion-X protective glass and a standard side wheel for control. The big plus is that the manufacturer offers many different versions: you can choose the right color, strap material and even the type of clasp - to suit any clothing, activity or mood. Water protection allows you to swim in the pool or sea without removing the device, but does not provide for diving to great depths and water sports. But, unfortunately, the Always-On screen function is not here.

When it comes to health tracking, the Apple Watch SE 2 is far behind the latest Apple Watch 8 and Apple Watch Ultra. The watch cannot do an ECG, measure blood oxygen levels or body temperature. They only have an optical heart rate monitor that detects heart rate and heart rate problems. In addition, the gadget tracks a large number of types of physical activity, monitors sleep, stress levels and the female cycle. True, without a temperature sensor, it’s just a woman’s calendar, without the ability to predict the ovulation period.

Although this is not a protected model, it can be of great help during hiking and outdoor activities: it has a GPS module, maps, compass, altimeter and barometer. And the accelerometer and gyroscope provide fall detection: if the user becomes ill and falls, the device will detect this, call emergency services and notify selected contacts. In addition, in 2022, Apple introduced a new Crash Detection feature that detects car accidents. In this case, the algorithm of actions is the same as in case of falls: calling rescuers, contacting emergency contacts and transmitting coordinates. However, fall detection and Crash Detection may not work in all countries.

The smartwatch is based on the Apple S8 processor - the exact same one installed in the Apple Watch 8. Therefore, there are definitely no problems with performance: the device works quickly and will not become outdated even in a few years. It also has everything you need for comfortable everyday use: duplication of incoming messages, notifications and calls, the ability to answer calls (speaker and microphone to help), voice assistant Siri, built-in player and contactless payment Apple Pay. The manufacturer claims 18 hours of battery life on a single charge, but with not too active use (notifications turned on, average screen brightness, limited sensor operation), the battery can last one and a half to two days. Of course, turning on GPS significantly reduces this time. But there is an energy saving mode that disables some background processes and increases battery life up to several days.

In general, the watches have received many of the functions of older models, but at the same time they are significantly cheaper. Although, compared to devices from other companies, they are definitely not budget ones. Therefore, we can recommend them to those buyers who are looking for an inexpensive gadget to work in conjunction with the iPhone.

Wristband options, body temperature measurement, battery life up to 4 days.
Contactless payment is not available in many countries and Google services are not available.

After the introduction of US sanctions and as a result of the unavailability of Google services, Huawei devices are no longer popular. Although the Chinese manufacturer’s product range often includes decent models, such as the Huawei Watch GT 4. These are top-end smart watches with an appropriate price that compete with the Apple Watch and Samsung Galaxy Watch. The model is available in two versions: the “male” 46 mm version has a more brutal look, and the 41 mm version is elegant and neat, so it is clearly designed for a female audience. Let's talk about her.

The 41 mm model looks sophisticated and stylish, fits comfortably on the wrist, has a thin stainless steel case with 5 ATM water resistance and barely noticeable bezels around the 1.32-inch AMOLED display. The manufacturer offers 4 colors, but they differ not only in color palette, but also in materials: there is a black silicone strap, a white one is made of leather, a silver one is made of steel, and the golden version has a Milanese bracelet. In general, they all look beautiful, but which one to choose is a matter of taste.

In terms of functionality, smart watches are practically not inferior (and in some ways superior) to their competitors and can do the same as most watches on the market. This includes measuring heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, steps taken, calories burned and even body temperature, monitoring sleep, stress levels and women's health, about 100 sports modes, a built-in player for listening to music and the necessary navigation systems. Moreover, Huawei used a new TruSeen 5.5+ sensor, which should improve the accuracy of measurements. It is difficult to determine how efficiently it works, but, in practice, the accuracy of various measurements is more than adequate.

In addition to simply duplicating incoming calls, messages and alerts, the device allows you to receive phone calls and respond to messages using emoji or prepared templates. So in most cases you won't even have to take your smartphone out of your pocket. The autonomy is also decent: one charge is enough for 4 days of normal use or two days with the Always-on Display function turned on. And if you are not an active user and wear the watch more like an accessory, the battery charge can be extended for a whole week.

Unfortunately, the sanctions could not pass without a trace, so buyers of Huawei gadgets will have to make some sacrifices. The watch runs on the proprietary HarmonyOS operating system, which you are unlikely to have any complaints about. To connect to a smartphone, you need the Huawei Health app, and this is the first pitfall. It is not available on Google Play (as in general there are no Google services on Huawei devices), but is available in the company’s App Gallery store. Or you can quickly download it by scanning the code on the package. And while this nuance can be easily tolerated, the lack of contactless payment will become a serious problem for many. There is an NFC chip here, but payment is only available using Huawei Pay. But this service only works in some countries, mainly in the home market - China.

Advanced functions for tracking health and activity, a large selection of colors, good battery life (up to 10 days), body temperature measurement.
Price.

There are two models in the Venu 3 line, and while Garmin doesn't differentiate them specifically for women and men, the larger Venu 3 is better suited for male users, while the Venu 3S, with its smaller 41mm case and slimmer design, is better suited to women's wrists. . There are a large number of colors to choose from, which, together with quick-release straps, makes it possible to choose the desired color to suit your style and mood. The watch weighs a little (40 g with a strap), is practically not felt on the hand and does not interfere at night, while sleeping. The case is made of fiber-reinforced polymer (in other words, plastic), the bezel is made of stainless steel. At the same time, plastic does not spoil the overall picture and, in general, the gadget looks decent. 5 ATM water protection allows you to use the device during rain, hand washing and even swimming.

Garmin is known for its commitment to health and activity monitoring. Moreover, its range includes specialized models for specific sports disciplines. Therefore, there are a huge number of such functions here. The watch can measure pulse, blood oxygen level, breathing, stress level, body temperature and will help monitor women's health, including pregnancy. The Garmin ECG app analyzes your heartbeat to detect signs of an irregular heart rhythm called atrial fibrillation. Body Battery tracks energy levels to tell you when your body is ready to exercise and when it needs a rest. The virtual sleep coach provides helpful tips by carefully tracking different stages and periods of sleep. For active users, there are 30 sports modes, 1600 exercises, audio tips for more effective exercises and animated workouts. In addition, useful features include a meditation mode, monitoring daily fluid intake, workouts for people in wheelchairs, and fitness age, which allows you to measure how fit you are compared to your actual age.

The watch also has everything you need for everyday use. The small 1.2-inch AMOLED display provides good color reproduction and brightness even in direct sunlight. Despite the fact that there is no slot for a SIM card, after pairing with a smartphone you can receive calls, read messages, reply to them, view sent photos and social network notifications. If you feel unwell or are in danger, the system will send a message indicating your current location to selected contacts. 8 GB of internal memory allows you to download music and listen to it without your phone. And Garmin Pay will help you pay for purchases in stores and transport.

An important advantage is the long battery life. The gadget does not have to be charged every night, because one battery charge lasts for 10 days. Of course, the Always On Display, GPS and listening to music reduce battery life, but in general, you will be able to monitor health indicators 24 hours a day and use the watch in places where there is no access to electricity.

We should also pay attention to the price, since Garmin Venu 3S is significantly more expensive than most of its competitors. However, Garmin gadgets have never been positioned as budget ones, because you have to pay for high quality.
