In this article, we will focus on network and battery models of the Li-Ion type. For instruments with Ni-Cd and Ni-MH batteries, the marking is different, but these are increasingly difficult to find on the market.

1. This block indicates the type of tool:

  • DA — shockless angle drill;
  • DF — impact-free screwdriver or drill-screwdriver;
  • FL — angular shockless wrench;
  • FR — high-speed shop screwdriver;
  • FS — high-speed screwdriver with depth limiter;
  • HP — impact drill or screwdriver drill;
  • TD — impact screwdriver;
  • TL — angular impact screwdriver;
  • TW — impact wrench;
  • DP is a shockless drill.

In battery models, if there are no letters B or D before the name of the tool type, it means that a battery of the clip type is used. But the letters B and D before the tool type indicate a slider-type battery. At the same time, B indicates work with batteries up to and including 3 Agodes, and D indicates support for batteries with a capacity of more than 3 Agodes.

2. This block indicates the design features of the tool (in cases where a 3-digit designation is used).

2.1 The first digit indicates the cartridge size:

  • 0, 1 — cartridge for the bat;
  • 2 — square cartridge;
  • 3 — cartridge with a maximum diameter of 10 mm;
  • 4 — cartridge with a maximum diameter of 13 mm.

2.2 The second digit indicates the battery voltage (except for impact screwdrivers and wrenches):

  • 3 — battery voltage 10.8V or 12V;
  • 4 — battery voltage 14.4 V;
  • 5 — battery voltage 18 V.

For impact screwdrivers:

  • 3 — battery voltage 14.4 V;
  • 4 — battery voltage 18 V.
  • For impact wrenches:

  • 0 — battery voltage 14.4 V;
  • 1 — battery voltage 18 V.
  • 2.3 The third digit indicates the features of the model.

    For impact-free drill-screwdrivers (the beginning of marking DF...) is:

    • 0 – two-speed gearbox with 18 torque positions and drill mode

    For impact and non-impact drill-screwdrivers (the beginning of the BDF marking... and BHP marking...) is:

    • 1 – three-speed gearbox with all-aluminium housing, with 16 torque positions and drill mode, with twice the torque (for heavy duty operation);
    • 2 – two-speed gearbox with an incomplete aluminium housing, with 16 torque positions and drill mode, with standard torque (for standard operating modes);
    • 3 – two-speed gearbox with impact-resistant plastic housing, with 16 torque positions and drill mode, with standard torque (for basic operating modes);
    • 4 – two-speed gearbox with an all-aluminium housing, with 16 torque positions and drill mode, with twice the torque (for heavy duty operation).

    3. The block to the right of the numbers indicates mainly the configuration:

    • P — 1.3 Ah;
    • Y — 1.5 Ah;
    • A — 2 Ah;
    • F — 3 Ah;
    • M — 4 Ah;
    • T — 5 Ah;
    • R, S, W — type of charger (R — fast charging);
    • Z — without battery and charger;
    • E — 2 batteries included;
    • E3 — 3 batteries included;
    • L — Included flashlight;
    • J — the MakPac case is included.
