Motion controller

— an additional gadget to the set-top box that expands the user's capabilities. The principle of operation of such a device is to control the gameplay using gestures and body movements. Such control is mainly used in various simulators — sports (bowling, tennis), automobile, "shooters", etc. Thanks to the motion controller, the game becomes closer to reality — the same movements are used for the game as in real life (swinging a racquet, punching in boxing, etc.). In addition, this feature allows you to "combine business with pleasure": the player is not just sitting at the TV, but rather actively moving.

In most cases, the motion controller is a device held in the hand; the movement of such a device is tracked by its own built-in sensors (Wii) or the console's camera (PS Move). But there are more original solutions — for example, a camera that immediately monitors the entire body of the player and does not require additional equipment (MS Kinect).

Motion controllers are also sold separately, but it is more convenient to buy such a device with a prefix and, usually, cheaper.
